I truly believe in allowing skincare do it’s job and this is why I have an indepth night time rather than morning routine. This way I can allow the products to sit on my skin over night and do their magic, so here’s what I do, step-by-step..
Skin Type: Mostly Dry/Normal but prone to oily T-Zone
First Cleanse: B. Clean Melting Gel Cleanser (£6.99, Superdrug)
Simply using a 20p amount of this product, you rub it onto your face and it literally melts the makeup off your face and turns into an oil which ensures that your face doesn’t become dry in the process. Once you have massaged your face using this product for about 2 minutes, I also gently rub my eye area with this, wash off with warm water.
Second Cleanse: Garnier Pure Micellar Cleansing Water (£4.99, Boots)
To ensure all makeup is off my face I then use a cotton wool pad soaked in the micellar water to wipe over my face. It’s suprising how much hasn’t come off from the first cleanse. I do this until my cotton pad comes off clean.
Eye Make Up Remover: L’Oreal Dermo-Expertise Gentle Make-Up Remover (£3.65, Boots)
I only use this if I have particularly stubborn eye make up. I again will use a cotton wool pad but will press the product onto my eyes for around 20 seconds before wiping off and repeating the process until the cotton wool pad comes off clean.
Eye Cream: B. Restored 3D Eye Cream (£11.99, Superdrug)
I feel like this is a step that a lot of people, especially younger people miss. Your eyes are surrounded by a thin layer of skin, this means it is susceptible to damage from the sun, and wrinkles. To prevent this, you must keep them in good condition by using eye cream. I put on a thick layer under and round to my brow bone to ensure I get that crows feet area after cleansing. This can then sit and sink in whilst I continue the rest of my skincare routine. I like this particular product as it increases the hydration in the area and seems to brighten up my eyes.
Wrinkle Targeter: B. Flawless Targeted Wrinkle Filler (£9.99, Superdrug)
Have you noticed yet that I love the B. range? Not only do I believe that you shouldn’t really mix and match skincare as ranges are made to compliment and work together but it’s cruelty-free and free from nasties which are unnecessary to skincare. Since starting to use the range I have noticed a major difference in my skin and I now swear by it. This wrinkle filler is a great treatment which I use on my crows feet, forehead, frown lines and smile lines. I don’t do this every night probably every 3 days or so but in a similar fashion to the eye cream I put on a good layer, massaging it into the problem areas and let it sink in for about 5 minutes before continuing my skincare routine.
Serum: B. Boosted Peptide Rich Elixir (£15.99, Superdrug)
A serum is great for getting high concentrations of essential ingredients to the skin. This one in particular targets lines and wrinkles and increases hydration overall. I simply apply one pump all over the face including around the eyes.
Facial Oil: B. Radiant Antioxidant Boost Facial Oil (£13.99, Superdrug) and Bio-Oil (£8.99, Superdrug)
Now, I’m not gonna go on too much about why I love facial oils, you can read my post if you’re interested – Facial Oils – Why They’re a Must Have for any Beauty Collection – but I couldn’t live without them and nor should you! They hydrate, correct skin tone blemishes and redness, ensure your skin is getting the correct amount of oil to it reducing in turn excess production throughout the day (yes, you heard me correct oily skinned girls and guys) and basically are my skin routine must have.
Lip Balm: Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose (£2.09, Superdrug)
It doesn’t really matter which lip balm you use just slather it on, a really thick layer all over, don’t be shy, then overnight it will hydrate, soften and fill in any smooth lines so you wake up with plump full baby soft lips.
It seems like a lot, but this actually takes me less than 10 minutes (including the time I take to let the eye cream and wrinkle filler sink in). What products do you use at night time for your skincare routine? Any thing you would add to mine?
